Stingray is a community-developed suite of astrophysical spectral timing softwaware, written in Python.
The Stingray ecosystem consists of three packages:
- The core Stingray package provides a powerful Python API for spectral timing. Stingray is an Astropy Affiliated Package.
- HENDRICS provides a set of command-line scripts which use the Stingray core to perform quick-look spectral timing analysis of X-ray data.
- DAVE is a graphical user interface built on top of the Stingray core.
Thanks to JetBrains making PyCharm freely available for Stingray development.
Stingray participated in the Google Summer of Code in 2018-2021 under OpenAstronomy, in 2017 under the Python Software Foundation, and in 2016 under Timelab Technologies. We are grateful to all of these organizations for their support. If you would like to participate in GSoC 2022, check out the OpenAstronomy GSoC info page.
